Cookies Policy

This Cookies Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies NeocortexLink OÜ ("Neocortex", "we") uses on neocortex.link and the Neocortex platform, what they are for, and how you control them.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, keep small pieces of data on your device in the same way. In this policy, "cookies" covers both.

2. Your Choice

We set only the cookies the site needs to work until you make a choice. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies:

• Accept turns on the analytics cookies described in section 3.2.
• Necessary Only keeps them off. The site works the same either way.

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or with the button at the end of this policy. If you withdraw consent, we stop analytics straight away and delete its cookies. We keep your choice for 6 months and then ask again.

3. Cookies We Use

3.1. Strictly Necessary

These are needed for the site and your account to work, so they do not need your consent.

• cookie_consent: remembers your choice in the cookie banner. Kept for 6 months.
• authjs.session-token, authjs.csrf-token and authjs.callback-url (with a "__Secure-" prefix on secure connections): keep you signed in and protect sign-in forms. The session cookie lasts up to 30 days or until you sign out; the others end when you close your browser.
• neocortex_sidebar_state and neocortex_view_mode_...: remember your dashboard layout, such as whether the sidebar is open and whether lists show as cards or a table. Kept for 30 days.
• nx_signed_in (local storage): lets our pages show the right sign-in button straight away while you are signed in. Removed when you sign out and ignored once your session has expired.
• mascot_session_id (local storage): continues your conversation with the assistant on our website. Kept until you clear your browser data.

3.2. Analytics (only with your consent)

• _ga and ga... (Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited): count visits and show us how people use the site, so we can improve it. Kept for up to 13 months. We have turned off Google's advertising features and Google signals for our site. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites.

Our analytics provider may change. This policy always lists the one in use.

3.3. Third-Party Content and Services

• YouTube videos in our blog posts load only when you press play. Until then your browser contacts neither YouTube nor Google. After you press play, the video plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and Google's privacy policy applies.
• Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a bot, is using our sign-up, sign-in and account forms. It runs only on those forms and is needed for their security. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

4. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in and parts of the dashboard from working.

5. Changes to This Policy

When we change the cookies we use, we update this policy and the date at the top.
